Nicksons Eatery, a Michelin Recommended Restaurant, located in the heart of downtown La Grange created by partners Nick Baca, his wife Carson Baca, and his brother Rich Baca. With a rich sense of American pride, the team is pleased to make their mark on the La Grange food culture, delivering compelling regional American fare with big bold flavors.

 

Nicksons Eatery is strongly influenced by the rich character of downtown LaGrange. Literally translated, "La Grange" is French for “the barn” and every aspect of the concept--the food, the inviting atmosphere, and the charming space--are meant to reflect the warmth and abundance of rural culture: tin ceilings, rustic hardwood floors, raw wood accents, and family style seating give a timeless feeling and a familiarity that aptly sets the mood for the meal.

 

Always mindful of the seasons, Nicksons robust and flavorful dishes are inspired by regional specialties from across the US. “We like to bring the food we love to eat and share it with our guests” says Nick. Some of the seasonal menu staples feature flavors like Texas Beef Brisket Grilled Cheese, Seasonal Fresh Fish, Peppercorn Crusted Colorado Elk Burger with a duck-fat fried egg, Wisconsin Brunkow Organic Baked Cheese, daily from-scratch Salads, accompanied by our lemon honey-herb dressing and of course Savannah Fried Green Tomatoes.

Nicksons has just launched a new lunch and dinner menu featuring the robust flavors of the fall. Crafted by Chef Nick Baca, the menu offers such tempting dishes as - Braised Beef Short Ribs”, Fall Apart Tender, Horseradish Cream, Fried Quail Egg Over Cheddar Mashed & Served with Roasted Root Vegetables and “Blackened Catfish Fillet” Low Country Raised, Blackened & Served with Cheddar Whipped Grits, Pickled Red Onion, Lemon Caper Sauce, Spinach Salad. Also featured are “The Local Artisan Cheese Board” served with accompaniments, and “The Seasonal Foodie Salad”, Nichols Farm Roasted Beets, Field Greens with Fig Dressing, Pistachios, Wisconsin Feta Cheese. Nicksons Eatery has made a name for itself with its approach to country cooking with a gourmet slant, focused on the honesty and purity found in fresh and artisnal ingredients. 


Nicksons doesn't stop with savory. We recommend you save room and end your meal on a sweet note with one of our delicious desserts, such as our Pecan Pie, Key Lime Pie, or maybe our Best Chocolate Chip Cookie in a bowl served with ice cream, or take a trip down memory lane with a nostalgic Rootbeer Float served in a frosty mug, the perfect end to a perfect meal!


New Fall cocktails include “The Pomegranate Mojito” - Spiced Rum, POM Juice, Vanilla Bean Simple Syrup, Muddled Sage & Fresh Lime, “The Nicksons New Fasioned” – Classic Old Fashioned with a ―twist. Makers Mark, Amaretto, Simple Syrup, Orange Peel and “The Wild Tea Party” - Absolut Wild Tea, Fresh Lemon Juice, Honey Simple Syrup, Shaken, Served Over Ice. The new regional specialties pair well with Nicksons regional microbrews served in frosted mason jars. New additions to the microbrew menu include “Victory Pale Ale” from Emmets Brewery (Illinois), “Mud Puppy Porter”, from Central Waters Brewing (Wisconsin), ―Original Sin Hard Cider”, (New York) and “Best Brown Ale” from Bells Brewery (Michigan). The featured seasonal beer is “Christmas Ale”, Anchor Steam Brewing (San Francisco).
